Things To Hang On Trees

dangle these from your big fuzzy...tree.

The past couple of days I've been working on these wood cut outs for Christmas ornaments. I have a lot in progress that I hope to have all done by the end of the night. If it's not raining in the morning I plan on cutting some bigger pieces too. The ones pictured above are all in the 3" to 7" range and I think it would be nice to have a couple that are up to 12" or maybe a little bigger.

Oh, My Incestuous Foot Habits

old shoes

The year is 2008. Could it be the end of an era? The above shoes are my beloved Es Accel's. This particular pair has been my pride and joy for over a year (at least), as evidenced by the inexorable destruction. I have literally owned over 12 pairs of this shoe. I have easily been a fan of this particular shoe model since 1997, maybe earlier. From 1995 to 2000 I worked at a mailorder skateboard warehouse and when I quit in the summer of 2000 I bought about three pairs to take advantage of my discount. Those three pairs lasted me awhile, but eventually I had to pay full price for them at local skateshops. Every time I went in for a new pair I would be struck with a rush of anxiety out of fear that Es might have discontinued the best shoe ever made on the face of the Earth. Oh, how I love the Accel! It's magnificent simplicity and nondescript beauty are unparalleled in the world of footwear. Not just skaterboard footwear. ALL footwear. That's right, I'll take a pair of Es Accel's before I ever take a pair of those overrated Louis Vuitton Luxury Calf Leather bullshits any day. Ok, ok, I would take a pair, but only to resell on Ebay, which would give me enough money to buy a dozen more pairs of Accel's. All this talk about my devotion to the best shoes ever made, The Es Accel's, and yet, today my feet have ventured into uncharted waters. Let me present to you my new podalic adornments.

These are the Etnie Digits. Aren't they just tasty looking? So delectable, I just want to eat them up. Lucky for me, wearing this new shoe does not fill me with any feelings of guilt. You see, wearing this shoe is quite incestuous because of how Es and Etnies are so closely related. This, of course, offers me a bit of relief. I, as they say, am keeping it all in the family.

On The Run Graphic Twin Markers

On The Run - Graphic Twin Markers

Since I started selling art supplies in my shop I've had a lot of requests for color markers. I have a lot of other markers, but I never had anything for sketchbooks or smaller drawings. * insert drum roll * Until now. I love On The Run. They make a ton of awesome products like flowpens, paint pens, and industrial markers. So, I decided to get their "Twin Graphic Markers", which are similar to Prismacolor markers, but better. I currently have them available in 12 and 24 packs. The nice thing about the bigger pack is that it's not just the 12 pack with 12 additional colors. That was a selling point for me because I bought a pack of Prismacolors years ago (like ten) and when I upgraded to the bigger pack I was stuck with some multiple colors. I didn't need those colors, but had no choice. The folks at On The Run know what they're doing.

These markers are two sided. One side has a nice broad chisel tip with a fine point tip on the opposite end. Check it.

On The Run - Graphic Twin Marker, details

The 12 pack is $36.
The 24 pack is $60.
These are available in my downtown SLO shop. If you'd like to order a set and can't come into the shop let me know and I can set something up through paypal.

Hey, this is my 100th post.

Thanks to all of you that took the time to fill out my survey. Your feedback has been very helpful. Interesting too. I could analyze it for hours. I should be an economist or psychologist, but I think I'll stick to drawing little pictures. If you did not answer the survey, don't worry, it's not too late. Just click here. The link will open in a new window/tab.

In other news, "Authorized Graff Zone" #6 is well done. Like a fat juicy steak.

With the ending of one board comes the beginning of a new freshy. This is the first time I've painted the board first as opposed to leaving the raw wood. So, here's the virgin broad. I mean board.

And here is the end of day two.

If you're in or around SLO come on it and add your contribution. Also, a few new envelopes have been added to the "Envelope Art Project". Check them out here. If you want to be featured on my Flick page feel free to send your own artistically enhanced envelope to:

The Claassen Gallery
1118 Morro St
San Luis Obispo CA 93401

Sadly, I don't have a lot of time to devote to the project, so I am only showcasing the front sides of the envelopes. It sounds lazy, I know. "Oh, I'm just so busy I can't take the time to flip the envelope over and take another photo." But hey, it's more work then it looks like. So, grab an envelope and go nuts! I'm anxious to see what you send in.

I Need Your Help

Live on the edge and click this link totally unknowing of where it might take you.

Or read this next paragraph to see what's going on. And then click the link anyway.

I just created a survey. It would really mean a lot to me if you took a minute to fill it out. Why did I create a survey? Because I want to know who you'd rather have sex with, Britney Spears five years ago or Britney Spears right now. Ok, not really. It's not that fun teeny-bopper gossipy type of survey. I'm actually looking for some feedback in an effort to make this blog more interactive. I know a lot of people look at this blog, but I haven't received much feedback and it's lacking a dialogue that I'd like to create with my readers. Yes, "mine". You're all mine! It's basically stuff like "Do people enjoy this? Am I wasting my time? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." I also have an idea for a new blog which you'll learn about in the survey and I'd like your opinion about it.

To take the survey please follow this link, http://www.polldaddy.com/s/99C4FC986AF2F98E/.

Thanks for helping!
It is much appreciated!

New Keychains Available

New Keychains

I have some new keychains available. I just listed them in my shop.

In other news, it's been a hectic couple of internetting days. I've been posting a lot of stuff on ebay. There are products I have that I am not allowed to post on etsy.com according to their user agreement. So, I use ebay for those goodies. Also, ebay has the potential to attract a larger audience. The downfall, of course, is that the huge ebay audience isn't all rushing to their computers to check out what spray paint caps I have available. Even though they should be! I mean, seriously, some of these caps are awesome! The etsy audience, of course, is specifically looking for handmade goods, which is great for all the other items I sell. Technically, I am not allowed to put artwork (or other goods for that matter) on etsy that I did not create, so ebay helps in that arena as well. Here's the ebay shop if you want to take a look, http://stores.ebay.com/jeff-claassen-gallery.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
